This afternoon (October 23), National Economics University (NEU) held a conference to review political education and student affairs in the 2023-2024 academic year and set priorities for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Presenting the report reviewing political education and student affairs in the 2023-2024 academic year and outlining priorities for the 2024-2024 academic year, MSc. Nguyen Hoang Ha, Head of the Department of Political Affairs and Student Management, noted that political education and student affairs are important responsibilities that consistently receive attention and emphasis from the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). Official Letter No. 4567/BGDĐT-GDCTHSSV dated August 24, 2023, issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, provided guidance on political education and school and university student affairs for the 2023-2024 academic year, with five general tasks and three specific tasks. During the 2023-2024 academic year, NEU diligently organized and implemented these tasks in accordance with the Ministry’s requirements and achieved positive results.

Education in political awareness and revolutionary ethics is an important responsibility to which NEU has always attached particular importance. The University continually innovates in both formats and methods, making a strong impact on students across the University through specific activities, including: innovating and improving the quality of teaching and learning in political theory, economics and law, and content on national history, revolutionary history, and culture in schools; strengthening the direction and management of political and ideological education in academic programs jointly delivered with foreign partners; organizing activities to study and follow Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style; communicating and explaining the competition “Youth Studying and Following Ho Chi Minh’s Thought, Morality, and Style” and guiding lecturers, administrators, and students to actively participate; developing Party membership in schools and fostering students’ understanding of the Party; focusing on identifying and nurturing exemplary and outstanding students through patriotic emulation movements, academic and personal development activities, and Youth Union and Student Association activities to build a pool of candidates for Party admission; developing and expanding models for identifying prospective Party members and developing Party membership in schools; implementing the tasks and solutions set out in the project “Building a Culture of Conduct in Schools” to strengthen efforts to build school culture; investing in, supporting, and regularly organizing cultural and artistic activities in schools; encouraging students to participate in artistic and community cultural activities; improving the effectiveness of student arts competitions and festivals; and supporting and investing in the development of the Library network…

Regarding priorities and tasks for the 2024-2025 academic year, MSc. Nguyen Hoang Ha also noted that the University is focusing on developing tasks and solutions for political education and student affairs in the 2024-2025 academic year, including: continuing to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of state management of political education and student affairs; thoroughly communicating and implementing the Party’s Directives, Resolutions, and Conclusions, as well as legal documents, projects, and programs of the Government, the Prime Minister, and MOET concerning political education and student affairs, ensuring quality, effectiveness, and alignment with practical conditions; innovating and improving the quality of education in politics, ideology, ethics, lifestyles, and life skills in conjunction with building and promoting the cultural values of the Vietnamese people; strengthening school counseling and career guidance; strengthening coordination among families, the University, and society in educating students; continuing to strengthen organizational structures and staffing, finalize regulations on functions and responsibilities, and enhance the advisory and directing capacity of departments, offices, and units dedicated to political education and student affairs; reviewing and evaluating schemes, projects, and programs on political education and student affairs for the 2021-2025 period; and continuing to propose and advise on implementation priorities for the following period…
