Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President, delivers remarks
On behalf of the University leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President, warmly welcomed the school administrators, homeroom teachers, parents, and nearly 600 12th-grade students from Cam Pha High School, Quang Ninh, to the experiential program “A Day as a National Economics University Student.”
Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong shared that NEU has a history spanning nearly 70 years. Over those 70 years, the University has established itself as one of the leading institutions for education in economics, management, and business administration. This journey became particularly meaningful on November 15, 2024, when the Prime Minister signed a Decision changing the institutional status of National Economics University from “truong dai hoc” to “dai hoc.” This marked not only an important milestone in the University’s development but also affirmed NEU’s standing, stature, and significant contributions to the country’s education and socioeconomic development.
Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong also noted that in recent years, NEU has recorded numerous achievements in educational quality accreditation and rankings. In institutional accreditation, the University received certification from FIBAA (Germany), with 100% of criteria meeting or exceeding standards. In academic program accreditation, NEU has had 21 programs accredited by ACBSP of the United States and 15 programs accredited by FIBAA of Germany. The University is currently also finalizing documentation for 20 programs, which are expected to undergo further assessment and accreditation by FIBAA in the coming period. These achievements affirm its leading position in Vietnam’s higher education system and its status as the university with the largest number of programs accredited by international organizations.
NEU always creates favorable conditions for high school students to participate directly in career guidance and social activities, helping them begin to develop their abilities and career interests so they can choose suitable careers for the future.
Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President, expressed his hope that, following the day’s visit and experiential activities, the students would be further motivated to work harder in their studies and achieve outstanding results. He also hoped to see them again at the upcoming opening ceremony for the 67th cohort of the full-time undergraduate program.
