Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President, emphasized that the National Mathematics Olympiad for University and School Students is a very important competition and an intellectual arena for students who love mathematics. It offers students an opportunity to learn, deepen their knowledge, and build resilience, while also developing logical and creative thinking and problem-solving skills. The knowledge they gain goes beyond medals and provides a foundation for other activities in the future. Assoc. At the meeting, the lecturers coaching the team and the student team members also shared their experiences of studying and preparing for the competition. The students affirmed their determination to work with their teammates to bring home the highest awards, demonstrating the intellect and resilience of NEU students.

The National Mathematics Olympiad for University and School Students is an annual event organized by the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, the Vietnam Mathematical Society, and universities, colleges, and specialized high schools across the country. It aims to help improve the quality of mathematics teaching and learning and promote mathematics learning among school and university students. This year, the competition will be held at Duy Tan University in Da Nang City from April 8 to April 13, 2024.

The NEU team participating in this year’s competition comprises eight students, who will compete in Division A in two subjects: Algebra and Analysis. In addition, the students will have opportunities to participate in sports and performing arts exchanges throughout the competition.
