To gain a timely understanding of students’ concerns and aspirations during their National Defense and Security Education (NDSE) course, on March 5, 2024, a delegation from National Economics University (NEU) visited and offered encouragement to students from Cohort 65 studying at the NDSE centers of Hung Vuong University, Hanoi University of Industry, and the Military School under the Hanoi Capital Command.

The delegation included Dr. Nguyen Huu Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the NEU Trade Union; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Trieu, Head of the Department of Academic Affairs; and representatives of the leadership of departments, faculties, institutes, and centers across the University.

Welcoming and meeting with the University’s delegation, representatives of the centers’ leadership reported on the students’ studies, health, and daily living conditions. After more than a week of study and training at the centers, the students had all settled into their learning routines. All students complied well with the centers’ rules and regulations and performed well in both classroom theory lessons and practical field training. In addition, instructors at the centers organized numerous extracurricular activities, sports exchanges, and cultural performances for the students.

On behalf of the delegation, Dr. Nguyen Huu Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the NEU Trade Union, thanked the centers’ leaders and instructors for their dedicated teaching and attention to students’ well-being and motivation to learn. Dr. Nguyen Huu Dong expressed his hope that, during the remainder of the course, the University’s students would continue to receive attentive support and close guidance from the centers’ leadership so that they could achieve the best possible results in their NDSE course.

During this inspection visit, the delegation observed students’ classroom learning firsthand and inspected their learning environments and accommodation. In conversations with students, the delegation discussed their studies and training and listened to their thoughts and views on the difficulties they faced while studying at the centers. All students said they were very excited to take part in this course. At the centers, they had the opportunity to study, train, and experience life as real military personnel.
