On behalf of the University’s faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President, warmly welcomed and congratulated the 797 new students who had been admitted and officially joined the NEU community—a leading university for educating political leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists, managers and business administrators.
Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong noted that, through nearly 70 years of development, NEU has maintained its position as one of Vietnam’s largest and most reputable centers for education and professional development in economic management and business administration. NEU has educated generations of highly qualified, dynamic managers capable of adopting new technologies and meeting the demands of the market economy. Generations of the University’s graduates have made important contributions to the development of industries and sectors across the country, and many now hold important positions in Party bodies, the National Assembly, the Government, corporations and businesses.
Looking back on its development, in 2006, in line with trends in global education, NEU established the Center for Distance Education to organize and develop forms of E-Learning distance education. Over the 17 years since its establishment, NEU’s Center for Distance Education has taken pride in pioneering the application of advanced technology in higher education, fulfilling the noble mission of ensuring that “Everyone has the opportunity to learn and pursue lifelong learning.” The Center has now achieved notable success in managing, educating and enhancing the knowledge and skills of more than 12,000 enrolled students, and has produced generations of successful graduates.
Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President, emphasized that, guided by the principle of “Putting learners at the center,” the NEU-Elearning program gives students access to today’s most advanced learning methods, enabling them to take an active role in their studies while saving time and travel costs. The University’s highly qualified lecturers and academic administrators, with their many years of experience, will also deliver real value to students. Students will not only acquire knowledge and develop skills but also have opportunities to interact with peers and lecturers through clubs, forums, practical learning experiences and the University’s social activities.
The Vice President expressed his hope that the program’s new students would always make every effort to fulfill their duties at work while remaining determined to complete their academic program. He also affirmed that NEU and the Center for Distance Education would always support and accompany them on their journey to reach new heights of knowledge.
