On the morning of May 5, 2024, National Economics University (NEU) held the 2024 Opening Ceremony for the E-NEU Undergraduate Distance Education Program for 508 new students in the third intake.

On behalf of the University’s faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of NEU, congratulated the students on their admission and on officially becoming members of NEU, a leading university in economics, management, and business administration within Vietnam’s university system.

Discussing the University’s development direction for the coming period, Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong said that NEU aims to become a research-oriented, multidisciplinary university with a strong reputation and regional- and international-class quality in economics, management, business administration, and several other key fields. Recently, NEU underwent FIBAA’s accreditation process, applying its rigorous criteria to meet institutional quality accreditation standards. NEU is working to carry out the tasks required by law to transition to a comprehensive university in 2025.

Reflecting on the University’s development, Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of NEU, also emphasized that, in 2006, in line with global educational development trends, NEU established the Center for Distance Education to organize and develop forms of E-Learning distance education. Nearly 20 years since its establishment, NEU’s Center for Distance Education takes pride in pioneering the application of advanced technology in higher education and fulfilling the noble mission of ensuring that “Everyone has the opportunity to learn and pursue lifelong learning.” He also expressed confidence that the program would bring students genuine value and help them build a path to future success.

Speaking at the ceremony, new student Pham Huy Cuong happily shared: “As of today, we have officially become students of NEU, the university we have all dreamed of attending. With a rich tradition spanning nearly 70 years of development, the University has been honored as a Labor Hero in the renewal period. It is not only a cradle of education that trains bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral graduates in economics with strong ethics, good character, and excellent professional expertise, but also a leading center for high-quality scientific research in Vietnam.

With their love for teaching, our faculty members have wholeheartedly and devotedly guided generations of students to become talented economists, contributing to the vibrant landscape of the country’s economy,” new student Pham Huy Cuong said.
