NEU Visit to South Korean Universities Yields Impressive Results, Strengthens Ties and Advances International Education
From June 18 to 22, 2024, a delegation of faculty and staff from National Economics University (NEU), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President, visited Dongseo University and Hanbat National University in South Korea to discuss plans for student and lecturer exchanges in the coming period.
The delegation also included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ha Son Tung, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Trung Thanh, Dean of the Institute of International Education; Dr. Pham Sy Long, Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation; and representatives of the University’s unit leaders, faculty and staff.
With the goal of becoming a leading university in Vietnam in economics, management and business administration, and amid accelerating integration and globalization, NEU places particular emphasis on international academic cooperation. The University considers this an important strategy for enhancing its educational capacity and raising its global profile and brand recognition. NEU therefore continually expands its partnerships and strengthens and develops joint programs with other universities around the world.
This important visit marked new developments in NEU’s relations with Dongseo University in South Korea and Hanbat National University, reaffirming their close ties and progress in academic cooperation. It also provided an opportunity for NEU to demonstrate its goodwill and desire to cooperate with more universities in South Korea and around the world.
As part of the working agenda, the NEU delegation met and held face-to-face discussions with the leadership of Dongseo University in South Korea.
Welcoming and meeting with the delegation on behalf of Dongseo University were Dr. Jekuk Chang, President; Dr. Kim Hee Kyung, Dean of the International Faculty; and representatives of the university’s unit leaders.

It provides an ideal learning environment for young students passionate about technology, engineering and applied technology development. Hanbat National University is a training ground for South Korea’s technology engineers, a major advantage for NEU as it cooperates with Hanbat National University to learn from its experience and implement new academic programs at NEU’s College of Technology.
Hanbat National University currently maintains close partnerships with scientific research institutes and major technology corporations in Daejeon, and has links with more than 101 universities in 29 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and China. These connections provide opportunities for master’s students in NEU’s E-MBA program to study in South Korea and visit businesses.
