On behalf of the University’s leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President, warmly welcomed the faculty members and applicants attending and following NEU’s information session on the second round of 2024 master’s admissions, which also offered guidance on taking the entrance examination.

NEU is undergoing a process of renewal, with many short- and long-term goals. In particular, its development strategy calls for developing new disciplines alongside its strengths in economics, management, and business administration. In 2024, the University introduced new majors in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Entertainment and Event Management, Information Systems, and Information Security.
Over the years, NEU has consistently worked to strengthen and prioritize rankings, quality assurance, and quality accreditation through external reviews, internal peer reviews, institutional quality self-assessments, and academic program evaluations against the criteria in the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), as well as international standards. Most recently, NEU welcomed an accreditation team from FIBAA, with 100% of the standards met or exceeded.
Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President, also shared that postgraduate education is one of the key tasks NEU has always prioritized to educate learners and develop and build new knowledge, contributing to the success of learners, the University, and society. With 45 years of postgraduate education, NEU takes pride in being a reputable institution and a leader in the quality of master’s education in economics, management, and business administration. The University has educated hundreds of thousands of bachelor’s graduates, nearly 20,000 master’s graduates, and 1,700 doctoral graduates… These graduates have made and continue to make significant contributions to the country’s renewal and socioeconomic development, playing an important role in enhancing the University’s standing and reputation.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Huong, Vice Dean in charge of the Institute of Postgraduate Education, presents information on postgraduate admissions.
At the information session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Huong, Vice Dean in charge of the Institute of Postgraduate Education, said that NEU expected to offer approximately 700 places in its standard master’s program in this second admissions round.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thanh Huong also noted that NEU’s master’s academic programs currently offer two tracks: research-oriented and application-oriented. With advanced, up-to-date content, these academic programs aim to strengthen interdisciplinary and specialized theoretical knowledge and the application of new knowledge, helping learners gain mastery in their work and address issues arising in professional practice.
Notably, in 2020, NEU officially introduced Blended learning for master’s education. This modern mode of education combines online and classroom instruction with a comprehensive electronic learning resource system, incorporating updates from advanced academic programs developed at many leading universities worldwide. In addition, the postgraduate education management system is equipped with modern software applications to facilitate quick, convenient interaction between learners and the University.
Accordingly, NEU admits and educates master’s students in 20 disciplines across 40 academic programs, including 15 disciplines with 35 application-oriented academic programs and five disciplines with five research-oriented academic programs. Full-time master’s study lasts 20 months, while part-time master’s study lasts 24 months, including the time required to complete courses and write and defend a master’s thesis or graduation project.
