On September 26–27, 2024, National Economics University (NEU) participated in the annual international scientific conference on “Student Research at Universities of Economics and Business” (SR-ICYREB 2024), held at the University of Economics, Hue University, under the comprehensive cooperation agreement among universities of economics and business. NEU was honored to have a study receive the “Best Paper Award” as one of the conference’s 10 best papers.

An overview of the program

The University’s delegation included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the University Council, and Head of the delegation; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Chairman of the Advisory Council; Dr. Trinh Mai Van, Deputy Head of the Department of Research Management; faculty members chairing discussion sessions, supporting lecturers, and five student groups presenting at the conference.

SR-ICYREB 2024 provided a forum for scientists, speakers, and students from universities of economics and business to exchange ideas and research findings, thereby helping build a solid academic foundation. The conference also offered students from different universities an opportunity to share experiences and strengthen domestic and international cooperation as they pursue their passion for scientific research in the country’s new development context.

SR-ICYREB 2024 featured research across a range of fields, including economics, finance, business administration, and marketing, with a focus on sustainable development. Topics included applying advances in the digital economy, the sharing economy, and Industry 4.0, as well as applying research on sectoral and local economies to meet development goals in the modern context. Students attending the conference also brought fresh perspectives on business methods, mechanisms, and environments to help businesses achieve their long-term development goals and support Vietnam’s Net Zero target in the coming years.

The conference attracted interest and participation from a large number of students at many universities in Vietnam and abroad. It received more than 600 papers and selected 217 outstanding papers for publication in the proceedings. Of these, 71 were selected for in-person presentation across 14 parallel sessions. Students, scientists, scholars, domestic and international experts, and those interested in finance and accounting raised numerous questions and exchanged views directly.

The organizing committee selected the 10 best papers and presented them with the “Best Paper Award,” including a paper from NEU by Bui Thu Hang, Le Tran Dieu Linh, Ho Phuong Ha, Doan Thuan Vu, and Tran Minh Tri.

As part of the conference, leaders of 10 universities specializing in economics and business administration attended a roundtable to share experiences in organizing international scientific conferences. They also discussed directions for inter-university cooperation in scientific research and academic programs, proposed ideas for expanding the membership of the group of institutions co-organizing SR-ICYREB, and handed over the rotating host flag to Thuongmai University, the host of SR-ICYREB2025.

The international scientific conference on “Student Research at Universities of Economics and Business” (SR-ICYREB 2024) was successfully held, marking an important milestone in cooperation on student scientific research among universities of economics and business.
