On behalf of the University’s leadership, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong warmly welcomed Andrew Goledzinowski and the delegation from the Australian Embassy in Vietnam for their visit and talk with NEU lecturers and students.
Prof. Pham Hong Chuong shared that, recognizing the importance of international cooperation in education, NEU has always given high priority to expanding academic cooperation with highly regarded partners worldwide.
In Vietnam, NEU is proud to be one of the leading universities in economics, management, and business administration, developing high-quality human resources for domestic and international labor markets.
Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong expressed confidence that the event would help further strengthen the friendship between NEU and the Embassy, as well as between Australia and Vietnam, in the future. He also expressed his hope for continued support from the Embassy in seeking opportunities for cooperation and educational development in the future.

During the meeting, Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski also discussed the potential for developing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in education, and expressed his hopes for the development of today’s Vietnamese students. The Ambassador hoped that more Australian students would learn about and choose NEU as a destination for educational and cultural exchanges.

Speaking with NEU students, Andrew Goledzinowski said: “Vietnam’s current goal is to become an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a developed, high-income country by 2045.
Vietnam has a real opportunity to break out of the middle-income bracket and do what only a few other countries have done. But to do so, Vietnam needs a more complex economy that goes beyond manufacturing. Manufacturing in Vietnam has not yet brought about technology transfer or human resource development. In particular, it has not done much for infrastructure.”
According to Andrew Goledzinowski, a modern economy also needs modern risk management systems, banking, capital markets, infrastructure, and insurance. “Vietnam needs consultants who understand modern approaches to economic and social governance for the private sector. And most importantly, it needs a modern education system—not just higher education, but also technical and vocational education. All of these things are important for Vietnam’s future,” Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski emphasized.
Ambassador Andrew Goledzinowski affirmed that this was an opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge and understanding of economics and cooperation between Vietnam and Australia. In particular, it offered guidance on future education and career paths.
