Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, Vice President of NEU, congratulated the new students admitted in the eighth intake and the new bachelor’s graduates in the third graduation round of 2024 of the E-learning distance education program. The Vice President also shared the welcome news that on November 15, the Prime Minister had signed a Decision granting NEU full university status, bringing great joy to the University’s faculty and students on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day.
Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong also briefly introduced NEU’s history and development and the international quality standards it has met, including FIBAA standards for educational institutions and academic programs and ACBSP standards. “Over nearly 70 years of establishment and development, the University has consistently pioneered innovation, development, and the dissemination of knowledge in economics, management, and business administration, as well as the application of modern technology in these fields. The University has been implementing its development strategy with the vision of ‘becoming one of the leading multidisciplinary research universities in Vietnam and the world,’” the Vice President emphasized.
Addressing the new students, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong congratulated them on passing the rigorous admission review rounds and officially joining the NEU family. The Vice President emphasized: “With our ‘learner-centered’ approach, the NEU-Elearning program will give you access to advanced learning methods that allow you to proactively arrange your time for study and work. With its qualified and experienced lecturers and academic administrators, the program will provide you with the knowledge you need for your lives and careers. I hope that, through your efforts, you will soon complete the academic program and that we will meet again at your graduation ceremony, where you will receive a valuable and meaningful bachelor’s degree from NEU.” The Vice President also reminded the new students to organize their study and research time systematically to promptly achieve their goals, stay on schedule, and acquire knowledge.
Addressing the new bachelor’s graduates, the Vice President congratulated them on completing four years of study despite many difficulties, including work pressures and the demands of balancing family time with study time. The number of courses and the substantial volume of knowledge posed major challenges, but the Elearning graduates had excelled in overcoming them to receive their NEU bachelor’s degrees that day. The Vice President emphasized: “Graduation does not mean the end of learning. Your achievement today marks a demanding academic journey filled with challenges and memories at NEU. The road ahead is long, and many new heights of knowledge await you. Your bachelor’s degree demonstrates your determination, inner strength, ability to accumulate knowledge, and readiness to embrace new opportunities. Your years as NEU students have brought you rewarding experiences. I believe that, whatever position you hold, you will always demonstrate the qualities and resilience of alumni who have developed and matured at NEU.”
Assoc. Prof. Bui Huy Nhuong also extended his wishes for good health and success and his thanks to the leadership of the University of Finance – Marketing. He offered his best wishes and thanks to the leaders of organizations and the families of the new graduates and newly admitted learners for their trust in choosing NEU as a partner and for their support and companionship during the past period. Pham Thi Yen speaks on behalf of the new students and receives a congratulatory bouquet from a representative of the unit’s leadership
At the event, speaking on behalf of the newly admitted students, Pham Thi Yen shared: “At this moment, I am deeply moved and proud to have been admitted and to officially begin studying at a university with nearly 70 years of establishment and development in Vietnam. We are deeply moved because, after overcoming our worries, uncertainties, and countless questions, as well as pressures from work and family, we finally decided to choose NEU and apply for admission. We could hardly believe that we had been admitted to NEU. What surprised us even more was the friendly and enthusiastic welcome from NEU’s lecturers, whose warmth and reassurance gave us confidence as we prepare for our studies. We thank our lecturers for inspiring us, giving us confidence, and providing us with the opportunity to study in a dynamic environment with professional, highly qualified lecturers and courses that will undoubtedly be challenging yet engaging. We also understand that admission to NEU is not only a source of pride but also calls for greater effort in our studies so that we can build on the achievements of previous generations. We pledge to work hard to learn, develop, cultivate our knowledge, and improve ourselves so that we will always be worthy members of the NEU family. On the occasion of today’s opening ceremony, I would like to thank all NEU educators and wish them good health, happiness, and continued success.”

New bachelor’s graduate Dao Minh Tuan delivers remarks and presents flowers to express gratitude to the lecturers
Also at the ceremony, new bachelor’s graduate Dao Minh Tuan thanked NEU’s leadership and lecturers on behalf of the new graduates. For Dao Minh Tuan, graduation day was a particularly significant occasion, offering an opportunity to meet friends and lecturers and share his pride with loved ones and colleagues. Tuan shared emotionally: “Receiving my NEU bachelor’s degree today fills me with overwhelming emotion, as we still can hardly believe that we have completed such an incredibly challenging and rewarding journey of studying while working. We faced the disadvantage of not being able to study and meet our lecturers in person in the lecture hall. In return, however, we had an academic program whose schedule and study hours were very well suited to people like us—those working hard to earn a living while also wishing to study and improve their qualifications. During some exhausting classes after a day’s work, we wanted to give up everything. But our lecturers’ encouragement and support gave us the motivation to continue studying and gradually complete all the engaging courses.”
“New students are also attending today, and I would like to congratulate you and remind you that a university degree represents not only academic results but also the efforts of an entire journey, supported by lecturers, friends, and colleagues. Without determination, your best efforts, and appropriate time management, you will not be able to complete that challenging yet meaningful journey that brings such pride. Overcome every obstacle so that, four years from now, you can stand where we stand today and receive the fruits of the knowledge imparted by your lecturers,” new bachelor’s graduate Minh Tuan shared.
