In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President, noted that this marked another year in which NEU’s traditional student sports tournaments were organized on a large scale, with a level of professionalism comparable to national student sports tournaments. The tournaments attracted nearly 400 athletes competing in three sports, with exciting, dramatic matches drawing enthusiastic support from spectators, whose total attendance reached into the thousands. The tournaments were a success, providing a strong starting point for promoting sports participation, enriching experiences, and enhancing the emotional well-being of students throughout the University.

Prof. Nguyen Thanh Hieu, Vice President, expressed his hope that students would continue to develop their abilities and strengths while maintaining a spirit of solidarity, exchange, and sharing among faculties and institutes. Through these efforts, they would help inspire a passion for sports and physical fitness and further develop sports participation, long a strength and tradition of NEU staff and students.

NEU’s traditional student sports tournaments are an annual activity that provides a healthy setting for students throughout the University to interact and strengthen solidarity and mutual understanding, while encouraging sports participation, improving physical fitness, and fostering a healthy sporting culture and lifestyle among students. These activities have left many positive impressions and featured exciting competitions among athletes from faculties and institutes across the University, who came together to exchange experiences, learn from one another, and compete with determination, continuing to nurture and develop sporting talent and, especially, spreading a spirit of solidarity throughout the NEUer community.

Looking back on the past season, with nearly 300 matches held across three sports—Karate, Taekwondo, and women’s soccer—it was certainly a journey that marked each team’s progress in both technical skills and competitive mindset. It left positive impressions on faculty members and supporters and, in particular, provided a rewarding setting for students to interact, connect, and create truly unforgettable experiences for one another.
