Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong, President of NEU, emphasized that, after nearly 70 years of development, NEU has become a leading center for education, research, and policy advice in economics, management, and business administration. The University has always taken pride in educating outstanding experts, scientists, managers, and entrepreneurs who contribute to the country’s economic and social development.
Over the years, NEU has continually updated its academic programs, strengthened scientific research, promoted digital transformation, and expanded international cooperation to provide students with a modern, dynamic, and globally connected learning environment. Here, students have gained the knowledge, skills, and aspirations to confidently embark on the next stage of their journey.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong also noted that the past four years at university had been a distinctive experience for students, who began their pursuit of knowledge during the Covid-19 pandemic, studying online, away from lecture halls, and facing numerous difficulties and challenges. Yet those very days helped build their resilience, adaptability, and determination to overcome adversity.
“To be here at today’s graduation ceremony, you have traveled a long road, demonstrating tremendous effort and determination in your studies, research, and personal development. Today, you have every right to celebrate and take pride in your achievements,” the President of NEU said.
In his message to the students, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong stressed that a diploma does not mark the end of learning but the beginning of a long journey ahead. As they officially leave the University, students should keep three values close to their hearts—“Continuous learning – Resilience and aspiration – Social responsibility”—as valuable preparation for the future, nurturing a spirit of lifelong learning.
First, the world is changing every day, and today’s knowledge may become outdated tomorrow. Therefore, continue to nurture a spirit of learning through books, work, experiences, and life itself.
Second, always maintain your resilience and aspirations, and dare to face challenges, turning difficulties into opportunities and dreams into reality so that you can continually grow and advance.
Third, live and work with a sense of responsibility to society. Individual success is truly meaningful only when it is connected to the shared development of the community.
“Work with conscience, integrity, and a spirit of service. Social responsibility is what shapes each person’s stature, reputation, and lasting value,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong emphasized.

New graduate Nguyen Thi Thanh Minh, a student in Investment Economics class 63B, delivers remarks and presents flowers to faculty members in gratitude.
Speaking on behalf of the new graduates, Nguyen Thi Thanh Minh, a student in Investment Economics class 63B, shared emotionally that, for Cohort 63 students, the first semester was unlike that of any previous generation. Instead of experiencing the excitement of arriving on campus, they began university during the Covid-19 pandemic, with an opening ceremony on computer screens, brief periods of military training amid health concerns, and classes and class meetings held entirely online. Nevertheless, those circumstances motivated each student to develop resilience, initiative, and adaptability.
Four years of youth passed with countless memories. From classes, research, academic competitions, and extracurricular activities to lively volunteer campaigns, all were valuable experiences that helped students grow more mature every day.
“Only as we prepare to enter the labor market do we truly appreciate the value of the lectures, the caring advice, and even the seemingly simple skills that have become indispensable preparation for our future. This is the distinctive hallmark of NEU students—valuable preparation that gives us greater confidence to move forward with resolve,” Thanh Minh said.
In her message to her fellow graduates, Thanh Minh emphasized: Wherever we are and whatever we do, we will always be part of this shared home. Always take pride in being NEU alumni, carrying aspirations and ambitions in your hearts to continue and add new chapters to the University’s glorious history.
