2026 Student Informatics Olympiad: Seeking Outstanding Candidates for the National Economics University Team
On October 4, 2026, at the National Economics University, the University-level Student Informatics Olympiad 2026 took place with great enthusiasm, attracting a large number of students passionate about technology and programming from the Information Technology discipline and various other academic programs across the University. The competition provided an academic platform for students to challenge themselves, engage with peers, and enhance their thinking and programming skills, while also contributing to the promotion of learning, research, and technology application among students.

In attendance to encourage the contestants were: Dr. Truong Dinh Duc – Deputy Head of the Division of Political Affairs & Student Management (the organizing unit of the competition); Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep – Director of Innocome Company, former members of the National Informatics Olympiad Team from the National Economics University; along with staff and lecturers from the School of Technology – National Economics University.
Held from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, the competition created a lively competitive atmosphere among contestants in three categories: Super Cup, Specialized Informatics, and Non-Specialized Informatics. A notable new feature this year was the real-time leaderboard displayed directly in the exam room, allowing contestants to track ranking changes in real-time, thereby increasing competitiveness and motivation during the exam process.
Additionally, an automated grading system was implemented to ensure the accuracy and transparency of results and support supervision efforts to prevent cheating. These elements contributed to creating a serious and fair competition environment, while also helping students familiarize themselves with the organization of programming contests.

Students eagerly participate in the competition
To encourage the competitive spirit, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to contestants with outstanding achievements. Nguyen Trung Hai from class DS67B was the first to solve a problem in the Super Cup category; Nguyen Phuong Ngan from class DSEB 66B made a mark in the Specialized Informatics category; Phan Trong Duong from class BFT 68B was the first to solve a problem in the Non-Specialized Informatics category. Contestants who excelled and reached the Top 10 overall were also recognized and rewarded by the Organizing Committee.
At the conclusion of the competition, outstanding individuals were identified, providing a basis for the Organizing Committee to continue selecting and nurturing the core team for the National Economics University’s Informatics Olympiad Team. The selected students will continue to prepare for the 35th Vietnam Student Informatics Olympiad and the ICPC Asia Danang International Collegiate Programming Contest, scheduled to take place from December 8 to 12, 2026, at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU), Da Nang.
