Building on the success of previous tournaments, the national NEU Golf tournament will be held on March 23 at Royal Golf Course in Ninh Binh, bringing together 280 golfers from 15 clubs across the North and South.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chair of the University Council, and Chair of the NEU Alumni Network Executive Board, speaks at the event.

On behalf of the University leadership, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chair of the University Council, recognized and highly commended the connections among alumni and former learners across all areas of activity, including their favorite sports, particularly the activities of the NEU Golf Club.

The NEU National Golf Tournament is one of the meaningful, community-minded activities organized by NEU alumni and former learners who remain devoted to their alma mater. With its scale increasing each season, the tournament will provide inspiration and a positive sporting environment where golfers can connect and experience competition together. It also offers generations of the University’s alumni, former learners, and entrepreneurs, among others, opportunities to meet and interact, thereby building a sustainable business community.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho wished NEU Golf Championship 2024 great success in fostering connections and exchanges, strengthening ties, and expanding cooperation, while providing a sporting opportunity for golf enthusiasts across the country.

Nguyen Tuan Luong, President of the NEU Golf Club, speaks at the event.

Nguyen Tuan Luong, President of the NEU Golf Club, shared: “The difference between NEU Golf and the other golf clubs that I and other NEU Golf members belong to is that we attended the same university. We share the same genes, so the process of ‘evolution’ or ‘replication’ follows a natural course without having to be forced. To date, NEU Golf has continued to develop and grow organically, with 40–50 new members joining the club each year. Even a small club within NEU can be comparable in size to another university’s golf club.”

“I am also very happy and proud that this year, the presidents and secretaries general representing the cohorts are all working together to build a distinctive NEU Golf culture. NEU Golf will also develop organically, as we originally intended. I firmly believe that, with the Organizing Committee’s thorough and thoughtful preparations, we will have a high-quality tournament that builds confidence and strengthens bonds among members, enabling each of our golfers to shine, give their all, and achieve the results they hope for. As President of the tournament, even though this is its seventh edition, my initial feelings remain unchanged. These feelings come from the heart, and we want to touch the hearts of all golfers,” Luong added.

This year’s prize structure features many positive changes to make the tournament increasingly appealing

This year’s prize structure features many positive changes to make the tournament increasingly appealing and allow golfers to better demonstrate their talents. In addition to Best Gross and first-, second-, and third-place prizes, the Organizing Committee has added skill prizes, Near to the pin, and lucky draw prizes, accompanied by cash awards to encourage all individuals and members to do their best.

MSc. Nguyen Hoang Ha, Head of the Department of Political Affairs and Student Management and a member of the tournament’s Organizing Committee, provides a brief overview of the rules for the 2024 National Golf Tournament for NEU Alumni and Former Learners.

The tournament is held under the auspices of the Hanoi Golf Association, with particular support from major sponsors such as Agribank, VnPay, Pro Sport, Doji, and Royal Golf Course in Ninh Binh, along with many other sponsors.

We hope NEU Golf’s golfers will shine, overcome challenges, and surpass their own limits to achieve their best results at the 2024 National Golf Tournament for NEU Alumni and Former Learners, to be held on March 23 at Royal Golf Course in Ninh Binh.
